A new look at Spider-Noir reveals who Nicolas Cage’s Marvel hero truly is. 2026 is bound to be a busy year for Spider-Man. On the Marvel side, there are at least two confirmed releases, including the animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 and Tom Holland’s next MCU Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

While Marvel and Sony work together on Holland’s Spider-Man movies, the latter will also have its own live-action Spider-Man release in 2026. Sony’s Spider-Man Universe might not be releasing any new films, but the studio will bring back Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir after his beloved role in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, with a twist.

At Brazil’s CCXP (via Omelete/Instagram), where ScreenRant is in attendance, a new Spider-Noir poster confirms that Nicolas Cage is playing Ben Reilly in Prime Video’s live-action Spider-Man series.

While the Spider-Noir poster only refers to the character as B. Reilly, Marvel Comics fans will know the hero as a Peter Parker clone who ended up becoming one of the most popular Spider-Man variants. The poster features Spider-Man Noir behind an office door, spotlighting his job as a private investigator.

While Spider-Man Noir is also a P.I. in the comics, there is one key difference between Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man variant and the original character: they have different identities. In the comics, Spider-Man Noir is a version of Marvel’s main Spider-Man, Peter Parker. As such, the 2026 Prime Video series replaces Peter with Ben Reilly.

The move might be a way for Sony to further differentiate its live-action Spider-Men, given that Tom Holland plays Peter Parker in the MCU and both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are heavily expected to return as their respective versions of Peter in one or both of Marvel’s upcoming Avengers movies. Spider-Noir also chose not to include “Spider-Man” in its title.

The new Spider-Man TV show poster is the first major reveal since Sony shared the first look at Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir back on May 12, 2025. Spider-Verse franchise producer Christopher Miller revealed that Spider-Noir is a black and white series set in the 1930s, staying true to Spider-Man Noir’s tone and persona from the comics and animation.

For now, Prime Video has yet to announce a release date for Spider-Noir, with the only confirmation being that the live-action Spider-Man TV show will swing onto the streaming service sometime in 2026. Joining Cage are actors like Lamorne Morris (New Girl), Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), and more.
