Samsung started updating its smartwatches to One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6 back in July, and it’s been a rather slow trickle ever since. Today, the latest wearable to be graced with the update is the Galaxy Watch FE, launched in 2024 as a lower-cost model, essentially a re-released Galaxy Watch4 under a different name.

Its One UI 8 Watch update is now rolling out in Korea, with firmware version R861XXU1CYK6. It includes the October 2025 security patch level, which is ancient at this point in December, but that’s unfortunately how things are in the Wear OS world a lot of times.

If everything goes well in Korea and there are no show-stopping bugs found, expect the update to spread to other countries in the following days and weeks.
If you are in Korea and want to install it, go to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, tap Watch settings, then go to Watch software update and tap Download and install.
