Investigation after man in 50s dies at leisure centre

The Health and Safety Authority has said it is investigating the death of a man in his 50s at a leisure centre in Co Longford.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the Coral Leisure Centre in the Mall in Longford town yesterday shortly after 10.30am.

The man received treatment at the scene and was the taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar where he was later pronounced dead.

The Health and Safety Authority has said it is aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation.
