Pamela Anderson has confirmed that she and Liam Neeson had a brief romance following their work together on this summer’s “The Naked Gun” reboot.
In an interview with People published Dec. 9, the 58-year-old actress addressed speculation about her relationship with her 72-year-old co-star, clarifying the timeline and nature of their connection.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” the “Baywatch” alum told the outlet. The two actors spent what People described as an “intimate week” together at Neeson’s upstate New York home.
Neeson’s property is located in Millbrook, NY, in Dutchess County. He has owned the property for decades, purchasing it with his late wife, Natasha Richardson.
“I had my own room,” Anderson said. “Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.”
During that time, Anderson said the pair went to dinner at a small French restaurant where Neeson introduced her as the “future Mrs. Neeson.” She also helped tend to his garden and witnessed a memorable moment when a bathrobe-clad Neeson chased a bear away from his window during breakfast.
“We went our separate ways to work on other films,” Anderson said, describing their time together as a “romantic lost week.”
When the film hit theaters un August and the two reunited for promotional appearances, some observers dismissed their connection as manufactured publicity. Anderson pushed back on that characterization.
“I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings,’” Anderson told People. “I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty.”
Neeson has remained supportive of Anderson’s recent career resurgence, which includes her acclaimed performance in “The Last Showgirl.” In August, he attended her performance in Tennessee Williams’ “Camino Real” at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts.
“He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me,” Anderson said. “I’m sure we will always be in each other’s lives.”
