Celtic’s 3-0 defeat to Roma in the Europa League was not enjoyable for Wilfried Nancy.
But if it’s any consolation, the Hoops certainly aren’t the only Scottish team finding Europe a tough ask.
Rangers have just one point from six matches in the League Phase, having suffered a defeat of their own against Robbie Keane’s Ferencvaros.
Keane was linked with the Celtic job last month after the resignation of Brendan Rodgers. It’s fair to say that most Hoops fans were against this.
But he was certainly lapping up getting one over on the Ibrox side – some of his post-match comments are fairly remarkable.

Robbie Keane mentions Celtic after beating Rangers in Europa League
The win took the Hungarian side to sixth place in the League Phase – they remain unbeaten in six matches.
But despite securing the three points, Keane felt that it would’ve been a ‘tragedy’ if his team didn’t win on the night.

And this wasn’t just a kneejerk comment in one interview – Keane made sure to hammer home his point in every interaction he had.
In a conversation with Hungarian broadcaster M4, a reporter suggested that the game was tough, but Keane wasn’t having it.
He snapped: “What do you mean it wasn’t an easy game?! We dominated the game from start to finish, we were a much better team!”
The fire continued in the post-match press conference, he said: “It would have been a tragedy if we didn’t get anything out of the game.
“I thought we were the much better team from the start. They got the goal, questionable if I’m being honest – the VAR lines I’m not sure about.
“I don’t think they deserved that goal. We’re closer to qualifying, regardless of who it’s against.
“Of course it’s a lot sweeter [to beat Rangers, given Celtic ties], but I wasn’t thinking that way.”
And he even let the media cameras into his dressing room after the match, where he galvanised with his team talk, seen via STANsport.

Celtic, Rangers and Scotland’s co-efficient
Scotland’s co-efficient has taken a hell of a hammering this season.
As a result of the sheer number of defeats for Scottish teams in recent years, we have gone from having an immediate Champions League spot to inevitable early July qualifiers.
And any doubt that this posed a risk for Celtic’s qualification hopes was quashed by the Kairat fiasco earlier this season.
Celtic’s European status, and Scottish football’s as a whole, is sinking to new lows.
