The Hunger Games actor and ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ singer Lenny Kravitz is officially now a James Bond villain. A brand new trailer for the upcoming 007 First Light game has introduced Kravitz as baddie Bawma, who has captured our spy in a classically over-the-top trap.
Developed by IO Interactive, the team behind the Hitman games, First Light tells the origin story of a young Bond as he goes on his earliest missions and needs to earn his licence to kill and 00 status.
In this trailer, we see Bond in Mauritania, where crime lord Bawma has risen to the top of the black market arms trade, and sees himself as some sort of God.
As he monologues about how great he and the ship graveyard-turned-town he runs are, we see that Bond is hanging upside down with some scaly pets looking to chow down.
We don’t know if Kravitz has done a song for the game or not, but there is precedent. Joss Stone both played a character in and provided the theme for the 2012 Bond game Blood Stone.

Alongside Kravitz, the cast for First Light includes The Walking Dead franchise’s Lennie James, Humans’ Gemma Chan, Andor’s Alastair Mackenzie, Steeltown Murders’ Priyanga Burford, and Dexter: Original Sin’s Patrick Gibson as Bond himself.
The official synopsis reads: “Bond’s adventures will take players all around the globe, coming face to face with allies and foes (or in some cases, both), while choosing how they overcome obstacles and challenges, whether it be with brute force, cunning guile, or charming wit.”
A blog post on IO’s website teases that Bawma is one of the characters who “blurs the line between ally and adversary”, while Kravitz described his role as “magnetic and unpredictable”.
“There’s danger in him, but also heart and purpose,” the star added. “He’s not just a man with power; he is a man who has to fight for every inch of it.”
