We’ve got four picks from two tasty ties in the traditional Saturday slot.

Saturday’s traditional 3pm Premier League offering has just two games for us this week – yes, yes, we know, the game’s gone – with Chelsea hosting Everton at Stamford Bridge and Liverpool taking on Brighton at Anfield.

But, hey, at least we’ve got PP News’ in-form football tipster Sam Farley on hand to dive into the markets for a value-packed Multi-Match Bet Builder.

Two of his picks are covered by Paddy’s Super Sub offer. This means if a player is substituted, the bet carries over to his replacement. Let’s get into his picks for Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea v Everton

Premier League match at Stamford Bridge, London

Under 2.5 goals

It’s now been five games without a win for Chelsea, who have followed a win over Barcelona with a pair of defeats and a pair of draws. The worrying thing for the West London club is that they’ve scored just three goals across that span, failing to score in multiple games.

Chances of a high-scoring game are low here with Everton ranked eighth on the away games table, giving up just eight goals in seven games away from Merseyside.

There have been over 2.5 goals in just two of those seven road games, with David Moyes keeping things tight and compact. Chelsea are not in form and they will struggle to break down Everton’s low block.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to be shown a card

This is going to be a big game for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with the 27-year-old looking to showcase his talent against the club that he feels rarely gave him a fair shot, with just two Premier League starts last season. He’s been in great form for Everton, scoring four and setting up a further two goals.

What’s gone under the radar has been his rash tackling. He’s had five yellow cards in 14 EPL games, as well as leading the Everton squad in fouls committed, with 19.

He’s not a dirty player, but he can get carried away and in this emotional setting, on the road, there’s a strong chance of that. His last booking was in September and it feels like he’s due one here.

Liverpool v Brighton

Premier League match at Anfield, Liverpool

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals

Liverpool will have been thrilled to leave Milan with three points this week, but it’s far too early to say that the trouble is over for Arne Slot and his team, with just five wins in their past 16 games and the Mohamed Salah drama taking the headlines.

Tuesday’s game was only their second clean sheet in their past seven, and defensively they’ve been dreadful this season, with Virgil van Dijk looking his age and Ibrahima Konate looking like a competition winner.

Brighton aren’t the perfect team, but they know how to score and have scored more goals than Liverpool at this point. Sadly, they’re also defensively weak.

Both teams have scored in 11 of 15 Brighton league games this season, more than any other team in the league, while we’ve seen Over 2.5 goals in 10 of Liverpool’s 15 matches. Goals are on the menu at Anfield on Saturday, so we’re putting both together.

Dominik Szoboszlai 2+ shots on target

One of Slot’s biggest mistakes this season has been moving Dominik Szoboszlai around the formation. He’s played attacking midfield, holding midfield, more centrally, on both flanks and also at right back. He’s arguably been their best player and Slot keeps insisting on moving him about.

He won’t be at right back on Saturday, which means he can influence the game and do what he does best. He’s already on five goals in all competitions, but he’s taking a lot of shots.

He’s had two or more shots on target in five of Liverpool’s seven league games at Anfield, and leads Salah, Cody Gakpo, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak in shots on target this season.
