The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues finding new creative ways to build anticipation for its biggest movies, and the Avengers: Doomsday trailer breaks a franchise record by doing just that. The wait for the first official footage from the new Avengers movie has been a long one, but MCU fans can finally rest easy, as it is nearly over.

We are officially one week away from the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, as the film’s first teaser will release in theaters next week alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash. While Marvel has yet to provide the first look at Avengers: Doomsday’s cast in action, new details about the trailer have been released, and the franchise is doing something it never did before.

After a week of many rumors regarding the MCU movie, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the biggest one of them. Marvel will release four Avengers: Doomsday trailers, with all of them arriving in theaters with Avatar: Fire and Ash. According to the report, each Avengers movie trailer will be released in theaters for a week before it changes to the next in the following week.

Previously, it was revealed that the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer’s runtime was 1 minute 25 seconds. As such, it is safe to assume that the three different versions of the trailer that will follow it will also land around that same range. At this time, it is not known whether the trailers will be completely new or only feature minimal changes.

Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Strategy Is Unprecedented

While Marvel Studios has yet to release the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer, the franchise is already breaking an MCU record before the footage drops. That is because the MCU has never done anything like what it has chosen to do to promote the 2026 Marvel movie. While films tend to have multiple trailers, the theatrical aspect of it and the rapid succession are huge.

James Cameron’s Avatar franchise has seen its two release movies so far gross over $2 billion. As such, releasing the Avengers: Doomsday trailers in theaters with the movie sets them up to be viewed by millions. By doing so with the proposed 4-trailer gimmick, Marvel also creates even more of an event environment for both Disney films. It’s a win-win.

Avengers: Doomsday is the first Avengers movie of the Multiverse Saga, and it not only unites the MCU’s heroes, but also brings back Robert Downey Jr., now as Doctor Doom, and multiverse characters. It is a unique entry in the MCU, so it makes sense that Marvel is pulling all the stops with its marketing push, setting up Avengers: Doomsday for major box office success.
