Cork City Council has given the green light on planning for a landmark building, out of use for several years, to finally be brought back into use as a retail space.

The former Roches Stores/Debenhams building has been idle since April 2020, and is often cited as one of the largest eyesores in the city, which has attracted significant vandalism to its windows and façade, as well as the main entrance on St Patrick’s Street being used by as a shelter for rough sleepers.
