This year’s choice is no different.

Merriem-Webster’s word of the year for 2025 is “slop,” alluding to the rise in “AI slop.” The company’s X post announcing this choice emphasizes the apparent condemnation of AI, saying: “Merriam-Webster’s human editors have chosen ‘slop’ as the 2025 Word of the Year.” Check out the post below:
