Moville businessman Oran McGonagle was saying “Nice To Meet You” when singer Myles Smith performed an exclusive gig in his pub!

UK chart topper Smith brought his pub tour to The Dubliner in Boston yesterday, treating fans to a lively acoustic set and even showing off his skills behind the bar by pulling the perfect pint.

The pop-up gig attracted a huge crowd, with fans flocking to the venue as soon as word got out.

Smith performed several of his hit songs, including Stargazing and Nice To Meet You, along with a selection of crowd-pleasing covers.

After the gig, Oran wrote: “What a gent. Myles Smoth and his band absolutely killed it. Thanks to everyone who made it happen, the customers and especially The Dubliner crew who keep knocking it out of the park. Up the lads!!”

You never know who could pop up in the Dubliner, even Ed Sheeran performed a surprise St Patrick’s Day gig this year!

Oran McGonagle, who has lived in New England since 2009, opened The Dubliner in 2022 as part of the East Coast Tavern Group, which operates bars and restaurants across the Boston area. Earlier this year, he expanded the portfolio further with the launch of McGonagle’s Pub in Dorchester.

McGonagle’s Pub soon earned major acclaim by becoming the first Irish restaurant to be included in the New York Times list of the 50 best restaurants in the US. The honour recognised the restaurant’s standout Irish-themed cuisine, led by Donegal Town chef Aidan McGee.
