The staff for the television anime of Yui Tamura‘s Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days (Yano-kun no Futsū no Hibi) manga revealed on Saturday the show’s second promotional video and one new cast member. The below video reveals and previews the show’s ending theme song “Better Off” by iScream.
Konomi Kohara joins the cast as Okamoto, a mysterious girl who appears near Yano.

The anime will debut on Nippon TV on September 30 at 25:35 a.m. JST (effectively, October 1 at 1:35) before airing on other networks. New episodes will air on Wednesdays at 1:29 a.m. JST.
The anime stars:
Shinpei Matsuo (Ascendance of a Bookworm season 3, Kakushigoto, Kemono Jihen episode director) is directing the anime at Ajia-do, Deko Akao (Arakawa Under the Bridge two seasons, Ragna Crimson) is writing the script, Toshihisa Kaiya (Ascendance of a Bookworm three seasons, World Trigger) is designing the characters, and Hideakira Kimura (Cerberus, Gundam Build Divers, Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE two seasons) is composing the music.
Yayoi Tateishi (Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions, Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter) is the anime’s sound director. Bit Grooove Promotion is in charge of sound production, and Nippon TV Music is in charge of music production.
FANTASTICS perform the opening theme song “POP LIFE.”
The comedy manga centers on Tsuyoshi Yano, the perennially unlucky high school boy, and Kiyoko Yoshida, the classmate who constantly worries for him. Yoshida sees Yano come into school injured, and Yoshida begins following Yano out of concern for him, observing his unlucky daily life, and resolving to support him.
Tamura launched the manga on Kodansha‘s Comic Days website in June 2021, and the manga is ongoing. Kodansha published the manga’s 10th compiled book volume on March 12.
The manga also inspired a live-action film that premiered in Japan in November 2024.
