Rugby, badminton and athletics were the dominant sports in Terenure College when Pádraig Forde first started teaching there in 1991.
But basketball, soccer and GAA have grown hugely since the 2000s and the senior Gaelic football team are competing in their first Leinster ‘A’ Colleges quarter-final today. Forde is the manager on a completely homegrown coaching team that includes two past students, Dan McCarthy and James McCormack, both Dublin underage players, as well as Kevin Roberts, a teacher in the school involved with St Jude’s.
