A nurse failed to provide proper healthcare to over a dozen patients over a 10-month period while working at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth as well as making several inappropriate contacts with a female student nurse, an inquiry has heard.

The nurse, Andrea Capelli, faced a total of 27 allegations of professional misconduct and poor professional performance at a fitness-to-practise inquiry held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in relation to 10 separate incidents involving patients and nursing staff on dates between November 2018 and August 2019 while working at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
