Stephen McPhail is leaving his post as sporting director of Shamrock Rovers.

The 46-year-old has opted to walk away from the role after nine successful years in Tallaght where he worked closely with Stephen Bradley; the closeness of their relationship was highlighted by the fact that McPhail would likely have gone to Lincoln as part of the package if the Rovers boss had accepted a 2022 approach.
