A man was rushed to hospital for treatment following an alleged attack in north Dublin on Friday.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene after receiving a report of an alleged assault which occurred at the pedestrian bridge at Finglas Bypass in Dublin 11 at approximately 6.30pm yesterday evening.

The victim, a man aged in his 20s, was treated at the scene before neog taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The scene of the incident was preserved, and a technical examination has since been carried out by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the alleged assault and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí and emergency services responded to a reported assault at the pedestrian bridge at Finglas Bypass in Dublin 11 that occurred at approximately 6:30pm on Friday 19th December 2025.

“A male in his 20s was conveyed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

“A technical examination has since been conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.

“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

“Any road users who were travelling on the Finglas Bypass / North Road between 6:00pm and 6:45pm on Friday 19th December 2025 and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 666 7500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”

The garda spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing.
