Give Ballygunner an inch and they’ll take a mile. St Martin’s discovered that to their cost in this AIB All-Ireland semi-final at FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles as the six-time Munster champions found their rhythm to run up a winning score that was unimaginable eight minutes into the second half when Darren Codd’s point had left them three points adrift, 0-8 to 0-5.

But over the next 25 minutes or so they just elevated themselves on to a different level, outscoring the Wexford champions by 0-14 to 0-2 with some really precise hurling given the conditions.
