A man, who is believed to have known Daniel Aruebose, has been arrested in Brazil and will be sent back to Ireland.
Gardai believe this individual is linked to the death of the young child. The arrest was made by Brazil’s federal police in Maranhão.
Cops in Brazil said the individual will de deported to Ireland.
It comes as a woman, who is believed to have known Daniel, was arrested on suspicion of his murder earlier this week.
She was quizzed by detectives at Swords Garda Station for nearly 24 hours before she was released without charge.

When approached by The Irish Mirror she refused to answer any questions including whether she carried out the murder.
She pulled up her hood and was driven from the Garda station by her solicitor.
Daniel’s remains were discovered in a wasteland in Donabate, north Dublin in September.
Gardai recently upgraded the investigation to homicide after the skeletal remains which were discovered on the site off the Portrane Road were formally identified via DNA testing.

Tragic Daniel went missing at around age three and officers have believed that he was secretly buried on land off the Portrane Road in Donabate, Co Dublin in 2021.
His disappearance was only discovered when officials from the Department of Social Protection made checks on a social welfare payment related to him and were unable to determine his location earlier this year.
The issue was flagged to Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, who in turn raised it with gardai.
In response to queries, the Gardai said the arrest in Brazil relates to “immigration related matters only.”
The Irish Mirror also understands that, at present, Gardai have not sought nor received any directions from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to charge anybody in relation to the Daniel Aruebose homicide investigation.
In a statement, they said: “An Garda Síochána are aware of the arrest of an Irish citizen in Brazil on immigration related matters only. This is a matter for the Brazilian authorities at this time.”
