Planning permission has been submitted for Ireland’s largest solar farm development in East Cork, despite a section of the land being the subject of an ongoing waste-management investigation by Cork County Council.

Greenhills in East Cork is a 1,110-acre site, currently home to the country’s largest dairy herd, and in March entered into a landmark lease agreement with Danish renewable energy supplier Ørsted, who took in over €9.5 billion in revenue last year.
