The end of the year is fast approaching and soon we’ll be ringing in the start of 2026.

If you’re looking ahead to your annual leave next year and planning your holidays, you’ll need to know when the public holidays for 2026 are. Next year will be the fourth time that Ireland has a public holiday in February, following the introduction of the St Brigid’s Day public holiday in 2023.

There are ten public holidays in Ireland in 2026. The vast majority of employees are entitled to paid leave for bank holiday periods under the Organisation of Working Time Act.
