I always felt John O’Donohue was christened wrongly. I think he should have been given the Russian name Alexa. It means defender of people.
He was best known for Anam Cara: Spiritual Wisdom from the Celtic World (1997), which became an international bestseller. Such was its success, it was reprinted six times in its first year.
