
Two men have been arrested in Cork after gardaí seized drugs worth €769,000 and €40,000 in cash.
The men, in their 30s and 40s, were arrested by gardaí from Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit.
Gardaí seized €700,000 of cocaine, €60,000 of cannabis and over €40,000 cash, during the course of searches in the Douglas, Cork area on Tuesday.
Follow-up searches were conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) in the Dublin 14 area, on New Year’s Eve and cannabis worth €9,000, along with €4,000 cash, were seized.

The seized drugs are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
Both of the arrested men have since been charged and will appear before a special sitting of Cork District Court on Friday morning, at approximately 10.30am.
This seizure comes as part of Operation Tara, a national anti-drugs strategy aiming to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.
