MADISON, Wis. — Madison is celebrating the first baby born in 2026 at UnityPoint Health-Meriter.

Ezariah was brought into this world at 12:21 a.m.

Hospital officials expressed their excitement, saying, “We couldn’t imagine a more joyful start to 2026 than welcoming this little bundle of joy into the world!”

UnityPoint Health-Meriter’s birthing center is the busiest in Wisconsin, welcoming over 5,200 babies delivered in the state’s capital city in 2025.
