The National Lottery has today revealed the exact store that sold the most coveted Millionaire Raffle ticket in Ireland as one lucky winner is sitting on a life-changing fortune.

In the run-up to Christmas, thousands of people purchased tickets for the Millionaire Raffle draw in the hope of making it a New Year to remember as one person was guaranteed to come away a millionaire. Some tickets were given as gifts, some bought one for themselves but only one came out a millionaire.

Lotto bosses have now confirmed that a shop located on the edges of a rural Co Cavan town sold the golden ticket that is worth €1 million.

The popular Cullies Maxol Service Station on Ballyhaise Road is the store where the winning ticket was sold, with shop owner, Jim Burke, expressing delight after receiving the call from the National Lottery confirming the good news.

Mr Burke said: “We were thrilled to get the call that our shop sold this year’s winning Millionaire Raffle ticket!

“While we’ve had a few lottery wins before, nothing compares to this – it’s by far the biggest. Our store is at the heart of the community here in Cullies, Cavan, with regular customers coming and going every day.

“To receive such amazing news on the first day of the year is incredible and knowing that any one of our customers could be the winner makes it even more exciting. We can’t wait for the buzz in the shop over the coming days.”

With the winner yet to come forward, the National Lottery is urging anyone in Cavan who was gifted a ticket or bought one for themselves to carefully check their slip for the New Year’s Eve draw.

The winning ticket was numbered 322259.

National Lottery spokesperson, Emma Monaghan, said: “Whether you bought a Millionaire Raffle ticket for yourself or received it as a gift, we’re urging everyone to check their tickets today! You can scan your ticket using the National Lottery app, check online, or visit any store. If you’re holding the winning ticket, sign the back, keep it safe, and contact our Prize Claims team right away!”

If you find you are the lucky winner, you are advised to sign the back of your ticket and make contact with the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for you to collect your prize at Lotto HQ.
