A man aged in his 40s was rushed to hospital with a serious injury after an alleged stabbing last night.
Gardaà responded after reports of an alleged assault on Gerald Griffin Street in Blackpool at around 10pm on Friday, January 2. A man aged in his 40s was taken to Mercy Hospital with serious wounds and remains in a “serious condition” today.
A Garda spokesperson told CorkBeo: “Gardaà are investigating all the circumstances in relation to an alleged assault that took place on Gerald Griffin Street, Blackpool, Cork on the night of Friday 2nd January, 2026 at approximately 10pm. A man, aged in his 40s was taken to Mercy Hospital with a serious stab wound. He remains in hospital in a serious condition.”
