It took a 70th minute Mark Rodgers penalty to finally inch the Shannonside derby spoils in Clare’s direction after another compelling Munster Hurling League Group B Round 1 showdown with Limerick in Dr. Daly Park, Tulla.

Level ten times as late as the 66th minute, neither side clearly wanted to split the opening Munster Hurling League points as first Limerick edged back in front for the first time in 35 minutes through substitute Peter Casey and Aidan O’Connor before a resolute Rodgers decisively swung the pendulum towards the home side with a late, late 1-1 blitz.
