Our first EU presidency since Brexit apparently puts us ‘on the global stage’ – it’s time to broach the subject of our future

Someone needs to be break it to the Taoiseach. And be gentle. Despite his best intentions, the unionists up north really just aren’t ever going to get on board with this united Ireland idea.
He can have all the confidence building, strengthening institutions and Shared Island Initiative funding he wants, but they’re just not buying into it. Sorry, Micheál. You tried and you failed.
