Brentford secured a big victory in the Premier League this afternoon, with some heroics from a couple of Ireland stars helping them to a 4-2 win over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Keith Andrews’ side came into this fixture on a decent run of form, having been undefeated in their last four league fixtures. Everton looked likely to provide a stern challenge in this game, although the Bees would prove to be the far superior side.
They took the lead through Igor Thiago in the 11th minute, before the Irishman in their team made some telling contributions.

This was the latest in a long line of impressive performances from the Cork man since his move to the club.
One of his international teammates would then double Brentford’s lead soon after the halftime break. Nathan Collins was the man to get the goal, rising highest to nod home a corner at the near post.

This header was the Kildare man’s first league goal of the season, having also netted in the Carabao Cup earlier in the campaign.
Brentford’s lead would be further extended by a second goal from Thiago just 60 seconds later. While Everton would get a goal back, Keith Andrews’ side would eventually run out as 4-2 winners after Thiago completed his hat-trick late on before Thierno Barry grabbed a late consolation for the hosts.
This result moves Brentford up to seventh in the Premier League table, just one point off fifth place and a likely Champions League position.
That hammers home just how good of a job Keith Andrews has done since taking over as manager, with his cause aided by a couple of familiar faces from his Ireland days in Kelleher and Collins.
