CHICAGO (WLS) — Tamron Hall kicks off season seven of her hit show on ABC7 Chicago this Monday afternoon.

The host was just back in Chicago, which she called home when she was a broadcast journalist.

Hall joined her longtime pal Hosea Sanders to talk about where she’s been, and where she’s heading: full steam ahead.

“I’m doing great; I am doing so good. It’s such an exciting time in my life. My son is about to be in first grade, can you believe it?” Hall said. “I’m always full of gratitude. But, as I’m approaching my 55th birthday, I’m just happy, I really am.”

She said walking down the street in Chicago was energizing for her.

“My son is into Spider-Man right now; he’ll say, ‘mom I’m gonna eat my pancakes and get my super strength like Spidey,'” Hall said. “For me, being here is like that; I get my super strength.”

She said she runs into people with whom she previously worked and they say they’re proud of her.

“But you know it’s also so good because it gives me a chance to meet some of the new generation of Chicagoans, right, because I left in 2007,” Hall said.

She also talked about the upcoming season and the future.

“I still have goals; I still have dreams, and how do we remind ourselves of the goals and dreams? And that doesn’t stop until the very last day that God says it’s time. Until then, I want to keep doing things. I want to keep trying things,” Hall said.

She said there are a lot of guests this season who came for the first time to talk about headlines they made.

“I’m supposed to be here, and what I’m supposed to do is not just have Tamron Hall’s name in lights. It is to use what I have to help other people get what they want,” Hall said.
