Meghan Markle has received a cautionary message regarding a possible return to the UK, as Prince Harry’s security aspirations may finally be realised. The Duke of Sussex is presently awaiting a fresh review from Ravec, the body responsible for determining protection levels for royalty and VIPs, concerning his taxpayer-funded security entitlements.

The review, which has yet to release its findings, could result in Harry regaining the taxpayer-funded police protection he enjoyed as a working member of the Royal Family whenever he returns to British soil. This would represent a substantial shift in the prince’s circumstances, given Harry has maintained that security concerns are the sole reason preventing him from bringing his wife Meghan Markle and their children to the UK since 2022.

Whilst enhanced security arrangements could potentially alter this situation and enable Meghan and the couple’s children to join the duke on forthcoming UK visits, one Royal commentator has offered a word of caution to the Duchess of Sussex.

In a piece for The i Paper, former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond suggested that Meghan ought to carefully consider any UK visit, proposing that the optimal arrangement might be for Harry to bring Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, to his homeland unaccompanied.

In a six-word warning, Jennie wrote that if she were Meghan, “I’d give the UK a miss”, reports the Express.

The commentator added: “Any visit by Meghan would need to be carefully curated and monitored.

“She may not be in the same physical danger, but she’s more likely to be the target of a verbal backlash than Harry, who still has a way of endearing himself to the crowds.”

Jennie went on: “If I were her, I’d give the UK a miss. She’s clearly happy at home in California. Why wouldn’t she be?”.

“She’s free, she’s wealthy, she has a husband who adores her and children she loves. Why court hostility over here?”.

Jennie added: “Harry and the kids can pop over and see Grandpa. Archie and Lilibet can take a peek inside the Palace walls their ancestors have inhabited. And then they can all head back to the sunshine.”

Meghan and the couple’s children last visited Britain in 2022 and haven’t returned since, whilst Harry has made several solo journeys across the Atlantic from their Montecito residence.
