North Tipperary Dementia Support Group meet the last Wednesday of every month.
Caring for a loved one with dementia can be full of questions and challenges, but you do not have to face them by yourself.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland warmly invites families touched by dementia to our monthly support group at Nenagh Library.
This is a space to share your story, find helpful advice, and connect with people who truly understand.
Dementia affects over 64,000 people in Ireland, with numbers projected to exceed 150,000 by 2045 as the population ages, with 1 in 10 cases diagnosed under 65.
The majority (63%) live at home, supported by over 180,000 carers, and the economic cost is significant, with family care and residential costs dominating.
New cases emerge at about 30 per day (11,000 per year), highlighting the urgent need for better services despite recent investments, with 63% of people with dementia living in the community/at home.
This number is set to more than double, reaching over 150,000 by 2045.
Each year, dementia care in Ireland costs more than €1.69 billion. Most of this comes from family care (48%) and residential care (43%).
