Ministers may quit platform as Grok ‘undresses’ women and children

Ministers are scrambling to find a way to combat an explosion of digitally created images of semi-nude women and children on the social media platform X.
Amid growing alarm in Government over the proliferation of deepfake sexual abuse images, the junior minister with responsibility for AI, Niamh Smyth, has written to senior executives of the Irish offices of X seeking an urgent meeting over the impact of its Grok artificial intelligence (AI) tool.
