The third anniversary of Saoírse Ruane’s passing is coming up, and her mum, Roseanna Ruane, is sorrowfully feeling the time flying by.
Speaking candidly on Thursday, Roseanna said things ‘have felt heavier than ever’ in recent times. Understandably, given the festive period always heightens feelings of grief and nostalgia.
Family is at the heart of everything she does, and so Roseanna is taking a mental health breather from social media for the foreseeable.

Sharing a snap of a picturesque frost-covered field, Roseanna wrote: ‘The last few months have felt heavier than ever.
‘In such a fast-paced world, it’s time to step back from the noise for a while and allow life to move at a gentler pace.’

‘Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support always. We’ll be back when the time feels right,’ Roseanna continued, urging her fans not to worry about her absence from the social media sphere.
The mum-of-two also hashtagged phrases such as ‘taking a break’ and ‘time out’, as well as words such as ‘space’, ‘grief’, and ‘challenging’.

Roseanna became particularly overwhelmed with emotion when the Late Late Toy Show aired, five years after she and her late daughter, Saoírse, appeared on it.
Reflecting on her brave little girl’s legacy at the time, the Galway woman said: ‘Words will never be enough to describe how PROUD we are of you… We’re still so proud of you up there above those fluffy clouds.’

‘She went to bed that night after such great excitement, and little did she know that while she was sleeping, she was making the world a better place,’ she said, sharing a photo of Saoírse asleep, with visions of sugar plums dancing in her head, after the Late Late Toy Show 2020.
