Lotto players in Co Dublin are being urged to check their tickets after one lucky punter bagged a huge five-figure prize earlier this week.
Wednesday night’s draw saw one Lotto player come agonisingly close to winning the jaw dropping €5.2 million jackpot.
The ticketholder matched five numbers and the bonus in Wednesday’s main Lotto draw, meaning they were just one correct number short of becoming Ireland newest millionaire.
While the Lotto player may have just missed out on the €5.2m lump sum, they still have plenty of reason to celebrate as they bagged the Match 5 + Bonus prize worth a cool €36,287.
The winning numbers in Wednesday’s Lotto draw were: 12, 16, 22, 35, 39, 44 and the bonus was 36.

The National Lottery has confirmed that the Dublin player purchased their Quick Pick ticket on Tuesday (January 6), from Eason, Omni Park Shopping Centre, Swords Road, Dublin 9.
Wednesday night’s big win comes days after another northsider in Artane, also enjoyed success in the Lotto draw when they won €174,706 in last Saturday’s Lotto draw.
Lotto bosses are urging Dublin players to check their tickets to see if they are “Ireland’s newest big winner”.
Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson said: “Another big win for the North side this week, as someone has just woken up to €36,287 after matching 5 numbers and the bonus in last night’s Lotto draw!
“If you bought your ticket in Eason in the Omni Shopping Centre, now’s the time to double-check, you could be Ireland’s newest big winner!
“While there was no winner of the €5,215,316 jackpot on offer, over 60,000 players won prizes in the Lotto & Lotto Plus draws. Saturday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €5.5 million.”
