There is a large amount of ice on the roads across the region this morning.
Gardaí in Castlebar and Ballina are advising that drivers stay home for the next few hours until the ice clears.
The Castlebar to Westport road is particularly affected, with slip roads particularly bad, as is the N60 from Claremorris to Ballyhaunis, despite it being gritted this morning.
No major accidents have been reported this morning, but motorists are advised to take extreme caution if they are on the roads.
