A teenager was arrested and charged with having over €50,000 worth of cocaine and heroin at his home last Wednesday.
Detective Garda Eoghan O’Mahony arrested 18-year-old Jayden Heaphy, of 69 Kilmore Rd, Knocknaheeny, Cork, and charged him with counts of having cocaine, Diamorphine (heroin) and cannabis, and having the cocaine and heroin for the purpose of sale or supply to others.
Each charge refers to January 7 at his home address.
Asked by Judge Mary Dorgan about the alleged value of the drugs, Det Garda O’Mahony said it was a total of €52,000.
While there was no Garda objection to bail, conditions were required, including daily signing at Gurranabraher Garda Station and providing a contact number at which gardaí can contact him at all times.
Judge Dorgan added a condition requiring a €500 bond, of which €250 cash had to be lodged.
The case was adjourned until April 15 to allow time for forensic analysis of what was seized.
