Ireland AM welcomed a new face on Saturday morning as Aisling Roche made the switch over.

The news anchor and reporter has already fitted in seamlessly with her new co-presenters, Martin King and Eric Roberts.

Fans of the morning show have welcomed Aisling with open arms and praised her first appearance.

Many would have already recognised the Cork native from her role at Virgin Media, but Aisling has been working her way through the media world for years.

She started working in community radio at the age of 17, before taking a big step forward in her twenties when she became a news anchor at one of the county’s biggest stations, Cork’s 96FM and C103.

However, Aisling felt the need to move to the capital to take her career to the next level.

In Dublin, Aisling worked with Newstalk and Today FM, before a major opportunity arrived a few years later.

When the chance to join Virgin Media News came up, Aisling jumped at it, switching from life on the radio to being in front of the camera, delivering the news nationwide.

That’s where she stayed up until this weekend, when the Cork woman joined Martin and Eric on Ireland AM.

Fans loved her debut on the show and wasted no time in sharing their praise.

One Instagram user wrote: ‘Aisling did a wonderful job presenting…I’d love to see her on again.’

Aisling has a clear talent for presenting and her success has been recognised and followed by her roots back in Cork.

In 2024, St Peter’s Community School in Passage West, where Aisling attended secondary school, invited her back to deliver a speech on her journey and to present awards to many of their students.

It was already a big year for Aisling as she got engaged to her long-term partner, Byron.

Aisling met Byron when the two of them worked together at Today FM and Newstalk. They are currently preparing for their big day, with the knot set to be tied in May.

Byron popped the question while the couple were holidaying on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Sharing a series of snaps to social media, Aisling wrote: ‘An incredible time on the Amalfi Coast but this guy stole the show.’

The pair gleefully posed in pictures of the stunning surroundings, with Aisling proudly showing off her ring finger and its new accessory.
