Over two and a half thousand new cars were registered in Kerry in 2025, that’s according to figures released from The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI).

In total 2,588 cars were registered, an increase of  3% from 2024, representing 2% of the national share.

Sixty-nine percent of cars registered in The Kingdom in 2025 were automatic, an increase of 11% from 2024, according to the SIMI.

Four hundred and twenty electric cars were registered in the county, representing 1.78% of total new sales in Kerry last year.

This represents almost double the amount of new electric cars sold in the county in 2024.

Nationwide, nearly 125,000 new cars were registered in 2025.
