A masked gunman barged into a pub in a terrifying incident in West Dublin last night.
Gardai were alerted to The 79 Inn in Ballyfermot to claims that a man had entered the premises with a gun drawn.
However it is alleged that brave punters inside the pub managed to prevent the man from firing off any shots when a bar stool was thrown at him.
His intended target is understood to have been able to get away as those inside the busy pub managed to attack the gunman.
The gunman, who is alleged to have been wearing a balaclava, then fled the scene – as gardai rushed to the area.
The incident is understood to have occurred after an alleged verbal row earlier in the evening.
