Three people have been arrested following the seizure of a firearm, a knife, and drugs worth over €166,000 in Co Kerry.

Gardaí stopped and searched a vehicle in Killarney at around 2.50pm this afternoon, where a knife and over €5,000 worth of cannabis were seized.

A number of electrical devices of evidential value were also seized.

Two men in their 30s and 40s, and a woman in her 30s, were subsequently arrested and are being held at separate garda stations in the county.

Gardaí carried out a number of follow-up searches in Killarney, where a suspected firearm, over €160,000 in suspected cannabis and LSD, and other drug-related paraphernalia were also seized.

The searches were made as part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking networks.
