Fans of The Traitors are speculating that Matthew Hyndman may have a secret connection with fellow cast member Stephen Libby.
In the episode aired on Friday (January 10), Matthew attempted to strike a covert deal with Traitors Stephen and Rachel Duffy on the popular BBC programme.
The Faithful were given an opportunity to communicate with the Traitors through a wall, unaware of their identities.
During this intense encounter, Matthew tried to persuade Stephen and Rachel to eliminate Jessie Stride and then recruit him into their ranks.
Matthew proposed: “I’m taking a massive risk here. I want to know that there is some trust. I suspect Claudia [Winkleman] will offer you the opportunity to seduce the next time you meet. I want you to turn that down and I want you to murder Jessie.”, reports the Daily Star.

“And then the next time you seduce, you can seduce me. So my question is, do we have a deal?”.
Viewers will have to wait for the next episode to find out if Stephen and Rachel accept his proposition, but some fans are theorising that Stephen and Matt might be conspiring against Rachel.
On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer speculated: “Theory Stephen is Matt’s fiance. Stephen has secretly signalled that he is a traitor.

If he becomes a traitor they could go all the way #TheTraitors. “A third chimed in: “There is a reason for the fianly tree picture, most are connected – Stephen and Matt are probably connected in someway #TheTraitors.”
However, Stephen is currently in a relationship with actor and artist Daniel Quirke. The couple frequently share pictures on their social media accounts from their exotic holidays, including sun-drenched trips to Vietnam and thrilling safaris in South Africa.

Before the series began, Matthew confessed his readiness to make difficult choices in order to secure the prize money. He stated: “It’s a game, so there’s no limit. I can’t express this enough because I am quite moral and I want to do the right thing, but this is a game, and so the moral dilemma that I see people face, I don’t quite get because there’s no morality in this at all.
We all know that we’re entering a game. I couldn’t be more competitive. I play lots of board games and sports. I love Settlers of Catan, and I’ve been playing a game called Dominion recently with friends”
When the show returns next week, loyal Harriet Tyce will have the opportunity to speak to the Traitors. But what will she say to the mystery players?
The Traitors returns Wednesday, January 14 at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
