Islanders can now compare every mortgage available in Jersey in just seconds with Swoop.je, a free AI-powered website.
The platform brings together over 300 mortgage products from all seven local lenders, giving a clear, side-by-side view of what’s on offer. Users can enter their property value and deposit amount to instantly compare estimated monthly payments for each product, alongside stamp duty and legal costs.
The platform was built using vibe coding, a modern approach to software development where AI is prompted rather than code being written line by line. This has allowed Swoop to be created significantly faster and at a much lower cost than traditional software projects. AI is also used to automatically gather mortgage rates from each lender’s website daily, helping ensure listings remain accurate and up to date.
The site features Morty the seagull, Swoop’s AI assistant, who helps users navigate the home-buying process, explains mortgage terminology, and answers general questions about how borrowing works.
