Social Welfare increases which have taken effect from January 1st will see a rise in numerous payments including a €10 increase in the maximum rate of all core weekly payments, for pensioners, carers and individuals with disabilities.
Monaghan Senator Robbie Gallagher believes the new increases will assist those most in need during the ongoing cost of living pressures.
