The price of housing across Ireland continues to rise, with many counties, particularly Dublin and its surrounding commuter belt, now beyond the reach of the average buyer.
Counties such as Kildare have seen prices skyrocket in recent years, but as affordability declines closer to the capital, pressure is spreading further afield. Areas that were once considered more affordable, including Carlow and parts of Kilkenny, are increasingly feeling the impact.
