DONEGAL and Monaghan will contest this season’s Dr McKenna Cup final as both come through their respective semi-finals this evening.

A superb second half showing from Jim McGuinness’s men allowed them to power past their hosts Derry, who had led for the majority of the first half.

Monaghan’s Micheál Bannigan gave a man of the match performance and hit the net as his side overcame Malachy O’Rourke’s Tyrone at Inniskeen.

Saturday’s showdown will be a repeat of the 2022 final, which the Farney men won 1-11 to 0-13. Donegal, who also lost the 2024 decider to Derry, are aiming to get their hands on the trophy for the first time since 2018.
