Celtic made it back-to-back wins in uninspiring fashion with a narrow win against Falkirk.
O’Neill only made one change from the 4-0 win against Dundee United as Benjamin Nygren, who scored last weekend, replaced Reo Hatate in the starting XI.
The Hoops were under the cosh for several periods of the first half and had to deal with an onslaught of pressure from the Bairns.
Despite having to defend deep, the Bhoys took the lead just before the break when Arne Engels’ corner was met by top scorer Nygren, who headed home from close range.
If truth be told the game itself was a drab encounter, with Celtic looking way off their best. However, three points takes the Bhoys back to second place and still within six points of Hearts.
Who deserves the man of the match from that win?

Celtic player ratings vs FalkirkKasper Schmeichel – 6
One of his better games after coming under pressure and facing calls to be dropped. Had to make a couple of saves, but none too taxing for the Dane.
Julian Araujo – 6
Another solid display at right back. Has grown into the position really well and looks to be an astute bit of business.
Auston Trusty – 6
Unconvincing at times again and is in need of restoring his confidence to get back to his very best.
Liam Scales – 7
Much improved performance from the defender, who looks much more comfortable in a four-man defence.
Kieran Tierney – 7

Kieran Tierney is looking more and more solid each week. Playing as a left-back means Celtic get the best of his attacking ability, as well as his experience at the back.
Callum McGregor (C) – 6
Falkirk had players swarm around him from kick-off as they know he can dictate the play really well.
Arne Engels – 6
Set pieces have looked considerably better since Martin O’Neill’s return and was solid in the middle of the park.
Benjamin Nygren – 7
Turning into a real poacher of late. Seems to be in the right place at the right time whenever the ball is near the goal.
Hyunjun Yang – 5
How good has Yang been this past month?

After a series of man of match displays, this one wasn’t as memorable from Hyunjun Yang and he was withdrawn in the second half.
Sebastian Tounekti – 5
Tried to cause problems down the byline but was matched by the Falkirk defender. Final ball needs some serious work.
Daizen Maeda – 4/10
Completely anonymous and had no impact on the game. Boy oh boy do Celtic need a striker in this window.
