They call it Blue Monday, this year falling on January 19th, the ‘most depressing day of the year’ as the Christmas bills roll in and payday stretches out to the far horizon. This year, with the Cost of Living Crisis still hitting us, it’ll be a particularly tough one.
But an increasing number of big businesses are looking to cushion the blow, and generate some custom, with special offers and money off deals specific to the Monday that marks the mid-point in what seems to be the longest and toughest month of the year.
The Circle K chain is offering 5c off for every litre of fuel at any participating Circle K or Circle K Express site in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. With fuel prices currently bubbling around the €1.75 per litre mark and a full tank costing northwards of €120 for many people, 5c off per litre is not to be sniffed at.
There are – of course – conditions. You need to be a ‘Circle K’ member – have the app downloaded on your phone – and when you fuel up, you scan your Extra QR code when you are paying to unlock your savings.
The offer is available from 6:00am to 23:59pm, only on January 19th. There’s a max of 100 litres for one vehicle fill per customer and Circle K say the offer is “valid for one account per member only. Members may not share their Circle K Extra account with family, friends, or others. Circle K will monitor account usage on the day and reserves the right to suspend accounts that are deemed to be shared or misused.”
One last thing – it’s ‘vehcile fills only’ – so no rocking up with cans and containers, hoping to make the best of a good offer.
