New film invites stressed-out men to bask in gun battles, car chases and beards but it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense

The Rip is so bad that it is tempting to say that no one will watch it. But I bet a lot of men will watch it. A lot of stressed men who’ve had enough of their spouses and their kids and their bosses and their work and the traffic – you know how it is – and just want something relaxing to look at.
Because experience teaches us that straight men find strange things relaxing. Things like machine guns, car chases, fist fights between friends and even between brothers, and also a lot of shouting.
