It’s shaping up to be an entertaining week on the small screen, and we’re here to bring you our usual round-up of TV recommendations – including a classic Agatha Christie, following last week’s release of Seven Dials, being added to Netflix. Perfect for fans of the whodunnit.

The best of this week’s telly is also set to include a “high-octane” drama starring Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner, and fans of that universe also have another reason to be excited – there’s a new Thrones tale on the way, this time centred around the brave but dangerously naive hedge knight Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey). Here’s what you need to know about this week:

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

There’s a new spinoff from the world of Game and Thrones, and all eyes are on the hedge Knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey).

Set 100 years before the parent show, the synopsis reveals that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms follows the “naïve but courageous” ‘Dunc’ and his young squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell).

The six part series promises “great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits”, lying in wait for these “improbable and incomparable friends”. Of course, this is Westeros after all. Blood is bound to spill, but will these unlikely heroes make it out unscathed? We shall soon find out.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is available from Monday 19 January on Sky and streaming service NOW and will air weekly on Mondays.
