With Landman season 2 having reached its dramatic end now, fans will undoubtedly start looking ahead to the show’s future. Another gem in Taylor Sheridan’s TV crown, the Paramount Plus series has continued to go from strength to strength, amassing a loyal legion of fans who have followed this complex tale of oil rigs and geopolitics.

But will the series be returning for more? Well thankfully, fans needn’t have to wait to find out as Landman was actually renewed for season 3 in the middle of its season 2 release.

It’s no real surprise really as the series has the viewership figures to match, what with season 2’s premiere episode smashing Paramount’s record for biggest season or series premiere in its history. It amassed a staggering 9.2 million views worldwide within its first few days of release, tripling its previous year’s debut.

There’s plenty more to dig into (quite literally) in season 3, as showrunner Christian Wallace previously teased that “after season two, I feel like we’re still just skimming the surface”. But when can we expect Landman season 3? Read on for everything we know so far.

Landman season 3 release date speculation

However, we’d hazard a guess and predict that we could be seeing season 3 premiere somewhere in November 2026 if previous timelines are to be observed. Season 1 debuted in November 2024 and season 2 followed suit in November 2025 so should schedules permit, we’d assume later this year will see new episodes land on our screens.

Who will return for Landman season 3?A group of adults sit around a dining table in a warmly lit interior, mid-meal. A woman in a fitted teal dress stands at the table, drawing the attention of the others as they look up at her. Plates of food, drinks, and serving dishes are spread across the table, suggesting a shared dinner. The room is richly decorated with patterned textiles and soft lighting, creating an intimate but slightly tense atmosphere.

Some fans initially thought that the direction of season 2 was pointing toward Billy Bob Thornton bowing out from the show, but the actor previously told USA Today that he will star on Landman “for as long as they’ll have me.” The actor signed a multi-year deal to helm the series as Tommy Norris, telling The Hollywood Reporter: “I think Landman, as an entity, will know when it’s over.”

As for what could happen in season 3, we’ll just have to wait and see, but as in previous seasons, we’ve seen that Tommy has continued to navigate high stakes, oil rigs, roughnecks and billionaires all while balancing his own personal drama. We’re sure that with growing tensions and developing stories, there may be some new players in the game but as of yet, no new cast additions have been announced.

For that reason, the cast we’d expect to return for season 3 is as follows.
